Things To Do

We are surrounded by a huge number of local attractions, meaning there’s always plenty to see and do in the area!

Step back in time with a journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, one of the UK’s most iconic heritage railways.

Running through the stunning landscapes of the North York Moors National Park, this historic line takes you from the market town of Pickering to the seaside at Whitby, with charming stops like Goathland (famous as Hogsmeade Station in Harry Potter) along the way. Perfect for families, steam train enthusiasts, or anyone wanting to experience Yorkshire’s countryside in a truly nostalgic way.

We are located 1 mile from the bustling town of Pickering and 8 miles from the market town of Malton.

Pickering is a charming town at the edge of the North York Moors, famous for the North York Moors Railway, a heritage steam line that runs to Whitby. The town is home to Pickering Castle, a 12th-century fortress, and hosts the Pickering War Weekend, which celebrates WWII with re-enactments and vintage vehicles.

Nearby Malton is renowned as the “Food Capital of Yorkshire,” offering a vibrant food scene, especially at the annual Malton Food Lovers Festival. The town also has rich Roman history, with sites like the Roman Fort and nearby Kirkham Priory. Both towns provide a mix of history, culture, and lively events.
